TYPES OF APPS WE SHOULD NOT USE! - FRIENDOTECH

DON’T USE APPS OF THESE FOUR CATEGORIES!

Privacy has always been a major concern for all of us since ages. It is believed that if we prevent our personal data in this open world of Internet, then we can protect anything on the web.

PRIVACY-COMES-FIRST

It is because of Privacy that many app developers and companies earn money. They usually target normal people (or less tech savvy) people who are unaware of privacy protection.

Many app developers steal our data through their application and sell it to MNCs, so that these MNCs can target their audience and show the ads to promote their business.

While we can’t protect our data completely from app developers or MNCs, but we can make sure that our data is safe enough so that anyone cannot use it in improper way.

Prevention Is Better Than Cure

There are some types of application on the Google Play which steal many of our data in the name of User Experience. Here are the some types of “APPS” which you must not download!

TYPE I: FLASHLIGHT APPS!

There are many Flashlight apps available on the Google Play and almost each of them ask for permission which must not be allowed by us to them.

FLASHLIGHT-PERMISSIONS

Some of them even ask for the permission to read the contents of SD card, access approximate location, access precise location, full network access, read and write content of your smartphone.

NO-FLASHLIGHT-APP

I mean, you’re just a Flashlight app and why the hell are you asking for the permission as if you’re going to control the whole Android system? Just stop it!

By the way, nowadays, Native flashlight are available in every Android smartphone and we don’t need any third party flashlight app to steal our data.

TYPE II: THIRD PARTY KEYBOARD

Third party Keyboard is another type of application which is responsible for data stealing process.

While using the third party data stealer Flashlight apps, you are allowing the app to access your contents, location or data but by using third party keyboard application, you are allowing them to access your messages (which you generally types while chatting), your ATM card number, your ATM card password, your Gmail Account password, your Bank Account Number & Password, your likes & dislikes, and many infinite number of data. There are infinite possibilities for the third party keyboard developers to store and access your data.

NO-THIRD-PARTY-KEYBOARD

It is difficult to decrypt the encrypted data but when you are using third party keyboards, you are sending your personal data without any encryption (i.e. your data is being received by the developers in a simple & plain text), which is really a serious concern.

SwiftKey keyboard app has already been claimed to have a KEYLOCKER in their keyboard. KEYLOCKER does nothing else but save all your data in the keyboard so that the owner of that keyboard can have access to it.

Native smartphone keyboard are the best or if you want other keyboard, then Google Keyboard is highly recommended.

TYPE III: FREE GAMES

There are many games available on Google Play Store and almost 90% of them are free. But are they actually free?

No!

Generally, we have to pay to avail many services in the games which let the game owner to earn a huge amount of income. Well, leave it!

NO-FREE-GAMES

You might be thinking now that what problem we will face when we play these games? Let me clear you that according to The New York Times, the free games in Google Play Store has a software named “ALPHONSO”.

What is ALPHONSO?

ALPHONSO is software which secretly activates your smartphone microphone when you’re playing mobile game in your smartphone. By enabling your microphone, it records every voice from your surroundings. This software is so attentive that even if you are watching television, you’re being recorded secretly by your favorite mobile games.

Later on, these data are sold by the game owners to other big companies in order to earn a huge income.

Nowadays, we are not safe even with our video games.

TYPE IV: ANTI-VIRUS APPS

ANDROID ó ANTI-VIRUS!

The above statement is completely irrelevant. Android and Anti-Virus has no relation at all.

In simple words, Android operating system doesn’t needs any Anti-virus. Anti-Virus for Android is a hoax as Android operating system is too smart to handle all the attacks and do not let any virus to steal your private data.

ANTI-VIRUS-PERMISSION-IN-ANDROID

Even  Kaspersky, QuickHeal, Avast, AVG (They are leading Anti-Virus service provider for Windows) are aware of Android security system but then also they are providing Anti-Virus apps to Android users because at the end of the day it’s user personal data which matters the most.

With the upgrade in Android every year, Google is taking its security level to another and it is getting more secure day by day.

Well, I think these types of apps of apps are enough to steal all your data and it’s upon you to remain safe.
